Hello fellow readers and welcome back to another reading wrap up!

This week was crazy. I finished reading 6 books, keep in mind though the last few books were kinda short and I read them all in a day.

So instead of blabbering I am just going to jump into the mini reviews because I have so many to talk about.

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

I know I am late to the game, but because the movie is coming out soon and I am interested in watching it, I wanted to read the book. You gotta read the book before the movie right?!

I do have a couple issues that I didn't quite like.

The first thing that I would like to talk about is the fact that the book is so long but not much happens. For most of the book we are following Ruby and her companions trying to travel to this one place, running in to a few problems along the way. I just felt that is was longer than necessary and things could definitely have been either cut out of shorten.

The second thing is that it took me much longer than I would have liked to get into the book. I found myself bored on many occasions, but the first 200 pages were the worst. I honestly could not get myself to be entertained.

In saying that, I did enjoy some parts of the story, especially the ending. It was the endings reason why I boosted the rating up from 3 stars to 4 stars out of 5.

House of Furies by Madeleine Roux

I loved this book so much! I was never bored, I was entertained from the first page and I'm excited to read the sequel.

I thought this book was beautifully written. You could tell the plot was well thought out and I loved the inclusion of pictures.

If you love horror and you're looking for something to read I would highly recommend you pick this up.

I rated it 5 out of 5 stars.

The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket

This is the first book in the A Series of Unfortunate Events series.

As most of you will know this series has recently been turned into a tv show on Netflix. After watching it, I had the urge to reread the series. My problem was I didn't have all 13 book.

Luckily now I do!

I enjoyed reading this just as much as I enjoyed reading it as a kid. The book is perfect length for a one-sit read.

I rated this 5 out of 5 stars.

Wings by Aprilynne Pike

This book is the first book in the Wings series.

I first read this book about 4 years ago, I borrowed it from my school library when I was 16. The thing was I never actually finished the series and I don't know why. But I am now determined to finishing this series and seeing how the story ends.

I remember enjoying this story so much and when I read it this time around I enjoyed it just a much, even if it has those tropes that we all hate.

I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Spells by Aprilynne Pike

This book is the second book in the Wings series.

4 years ago when I read this series this was the book I stopped at. Why I stopped is a mystery to my 16 year old self but like I said before I am very determined to finish the series.

I really enjoyed the continuation of the story and the introduction of some new characters.

I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket

This book is the second book in the A Series of Unfortunate Events series.

I don't know what to say. Count Olaf and the Baudelaire orphans are my favourite characters from my childhood, apart from Harry Potter of course. So reading this series again and getting to take this adventure with the orphans again makes me happy and honestly lost for words.

I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars and if you have never picked up this series then I suggest you do. The books are short and can be read in one sitting.

So this really concludes my reading wrap up.

I feel like this review is all over the place. I have never read 6 books in one week.

For all of the books I rated 5 stars, they are hard to talk about. Like I can say how much I loved them and how much I enjoyed it, but there is nothing to critique on. That is usually why I don't write long reviews for them. Any book that has a rating lower is easier to talk about than a 5 star read.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this wrap up. Hopefully next week there won't be so many books as I go back to uni.

Happy reading!
